"Endura Flap" Dog Door for Walls
In 2001 Patio Pacific set out to design and build the best pet door flap ever made. We're finally ready to release the resulting flap in a version for all walls: The award winning Endura Flap Pet Door for Walls.
If you've never owned a pet door before, you're going to be very satisfied. It does what you think it should do.
But if you have ever owned a pet door, hold on to your socks. You're not going to believe how much better this is that what you've had in the past.
A note on single versus double flap versions The double flap versions and the #10 and #12 single flap versions are not recommended for use by cats or tiny dogs.
Rainwater in the Tunnel - The single flap version has a high threshold on the inside and no barrier to the outside. Wind-driven rain will surely enter the tunnel but quickly run out toward the outside. The double flap version, has a high threshold barrier on both sides. Very little water will penetrate the outside flap but any that does will remain inside the tunnel until it dries.
As with all "wall mount" dog doors, careful caulking of all seams is vital to prevent water penetration inside your walls.
Introducing the "Endura Flap" (patented, pat. pending)- The greatest advance in pet door design ever! The heart of any pet door is the flap, and pet door flaps have always been a big disappointment to the pet door owner. They leak, they don't insulate, they pinch the pet, they blow open, they don't fit the pet and they wear out quickly so the user needs to buy an expensive replacement flap and start over again.
Some have been better than others in one respect or another. But none has ever succeeded in achieving superior performance in every respect. This is particularly true of the brands that are most heavily marketed today.
Beginning in 2001, Patio Pacific, Inc, undertook an intensive engineering design effort to build the perfect pet door flap and, based upon that design, to produce a full range of superior pet door products. By Fall of 2004, that work had culminated in the "Endura" Flap Assembly.
Note: Endura Flaps are not recommended for use by kittens or very small dogs. Cats have been successful using the #06, however a few have found the #08 difficult to use. We would not recommend using the #10 or #12 or any of the double flap versions for cats.
